Cute crafty gift for a little girl.
I purchased this for my 7 year old daughter who's more into art's and crafts kind of things then Barbies. She seemed happy to get it and had fun with it. The gift is pretty self explanatory so the only thing I would add is they the actual item is not as brightly colored as the manufactures stock picture shows.
It's not the bright "Lisa Frank" like colors it looks like in the main photo. The wooden box it's in it actually more of a light pink color then the hot pink color they show but the beads are a bit brighter. I added a personal photo to Amazon's customer images above to help give a better idea but even that picture seems a bit more colorful then the actual item in hand. These color variations are not a big deal but I just wanted to make a note of them so people would know.

A Must Have
I ordered this stamp set for my 3 year old. I was concerned when I was ordering it that it might not be up to the job of withstanding a 3 year old due to the low price. When we recieved it we tore it open to find the box was made of sturdy wood as well as all the stamps. And yes the ink really is washable! You just put the stamp under warm water and the ink just rinses away. It comes out of clothing walls and just about anywhere else toddlers may think to put it. And the rubber stampers that are attached to the wooden blocks are very clear when stamped. There are no broken lines or unwanted blotches. I recently went to a local craft store looking for more stamps and found the prices to be overly rediculous. This kit is definately worth more than I paid. My son asks to play "dino stamps" all the time and I don't mind pulling it out for him because it really is washable. The colored pencils are wonderful as the ink dries fairly quickly so you can use them to color in the stamped outline. I most definately recommend this to anyone!

Okay!
I was very pleased with the food sets we purchased last year for Christmas. My daughter loves to play with them.
One note worth mentioning is that the "patty" started peeling paint. I know my daughter isn't chewing on it so I really don't know what caused this.
With all the lead-paint scares I promptly threw it away. This product is manufactured in China. I'm not saying that it may have lead paint or anything like that but it's better to be safe than sorry.
All in all they're very durable food items and fun. Just regularly check for chips in the paint to be safe.

Love this!My son recieved this toy for his 1st Birthday and he LOVES it! He walks all over the house pulling it along behind him. There's nothing cuter than saying "Walk your Froggy!" and seeing him run after it and walking his frog! This has proven to be his favorite birthday present and it's such a high quality toy I can definitely see passing it down to future siblings! =)
One thing to watch though the pull string is a bit too long he has already wrapped it all the way arond his neck twice! That can easily be fixed by trimming it down and knotting the end if needed.

Great activity for quiet timeI bought this for my 18 month old because she is really into books puzzles and stacking blocks. She picked up the beading concept right away and was thrilled with this new toy. I think the bright colors and variety of shapes are interesting to little ones and it's a great activity for teaching hand/eye coordination. The beads can also be used for stacking. We do this activity before naptime or bedtime as a quiet transition. This will be a perfect toy to grow with her as she gets older and starts learning patterns and color families. Another great product from Melissa & Doug.

My daugher LOVES ths sticker bookGot this for my daughers 5th birthday and she has played with it nonstop for over a month. (The one we got her only had 700 stickers.) Such a wide range of stickers and theme's it's giving her a chance to use her imagination. She even started making little notes for her classmates and including the stickers on the notes. Her classmates LOVE them. Now as a parent you do have to pick up your fair share of stickers all around the home. But it has been a great project for her to play with on her own. They even have doll stickers you can dress up with clothes. If your kids love stickers I would highly recommend this. They will get a lot of enjoyment out of it.

Great alternative to usual craft activitiesWe gave this to our 5 year old for Christmas and she still uses it. The box keeps all the stamps and stamp pad together and makes cleanup a breeze. This turned out to be a nice change from her usual crayons and not as messy as paints. It has enough stamps for her to create many pictures and stories and really keeps her interest for about 45 minutes at a time (which as any mom knows is fantastic). Overall a fantastic value for the price.

Easy fun for kidsWe bought a pair of these handy easel paper pads and pull them out on rainy or snowy days. The kids love using markers crayons foam stickers glitter glue whatever they get their hands on and with the large 17x20 inch working space they can create their masterpieces for hours. At this great price you can afford to buy one for each kid and everyone is happy! We didn't bother buying the easel stand since our kids like spreading out on floor space. The stand up easel is better used when painting.

Great Product Great Price!This easel is a great buy! Very sturdy and high quality as most of mellisa and doug products. Colorful kid friendly and easy to put together. Both the writing boards and the trays are adjustable for the height of your child. It folds up easy but stands strong. This easel DOES have a place for a paper roll!! I did not think it did by the amazon description (I almost bought a more expensive one for the paper roll but decided to go with this and am so glad I did) ... the roll goes in the center between the boards and the paper comes up through the top and under a paper guide in front of the dry erase side. I can't image why you would spend more on another brand of easel this one has everything I could think of wanting and is simple solid wood looks good and is super functional. This is the first review I have written but wanted to pass on how happy I am with this product.

smockI like this smock even though it doesn't have long sleeves. My 4 yr old paints outside and I thought long sleeves would be too warm. She can put it on by herself and it can be easily wiped clean. It's held up great and I think it makes her feel like an artist :)

Sweet Confection Falls Just Short Of PerfectionIn general I applaud the Melissa & Doug company for its dedication to simple classic durable wooden toys that are genuinely educational in that they invite imaginative play rather than recite facts to a passive child at the push of a button. The birthday cake toy is no exception. Since my daughter received this toy for her third birthday we have baked and decorated dozens of cakes in her play kitchen and thrown birthday parties for each family member as well as all the dolls and all the stuffed animals.
However I can't help feeling that this toy could have been a bit better. Basically it consists of a red wooden serving platter and a cake comprised of six sections that velcro together to form a circle. Each piece is quite large -- almost as big as a real slice of cake. The set includes a cake server that can be used to cut the slices apart which provides that satisfying velcro-ripping sound. The cake is painted white with blue icing swirls and has velcro spots in concentric circles on top for the decorations. The decorations are painted on wooden discs that velcro to the top of the cake. The set comes with seven candles that can be velcroed to the top as well. There are only three different decorations -- strawberries jellybeans and gumdrops. I would have included icing flowers so that the cake could be decorated like a "real" cake that a child might have for his or her birthday. Also I would have made the candle flames detachable so that the candles could be "lit" and "blown out" by the child. Also it is very difficult to cut out and serve the first piece of cake as it tends to refasten itself to the pieces adjacent to it before it can be lifted out and served.
Still this is a neat toy and a good addition to a child's imaginary kitchen. Two months after our daughter's birthday she still plays with this toy quite regularly. It's constructed so durably that I'm sure my grandchildren will be playing with it too!

Really Nice Stamp SetWe gave this to our 3-year-old for Christmas. She LOVES it. She spends a lot of time stamping paper and then coloring in the pictures she makes.
